Although Sanur Beach lives in the shadow of the legendary beaches of Kuta, Jimbaran and Nusa Dua, a great number of tourists come here every year. In the thirties it used to be an unknown little fishing village of Sanoa located in front of a jutting bay protected from the sea by a coral reef. Many artists and intellectuals from different countries lived here at that time enjoying their existence in this exotic place. Sanur is the first district of Bali that started to develop tourist infrastructure of the island.
At present Sanur is a popular holiday destination in Bali where several excellent hotels as well as various bungalows, apartments and villas to every taste, lots of restaurants offering chefs’ specials, bars and souvenir shops are located.
