Description

Sanur is located in the south-eastern part of the island just a few minutes drive from the airport. Sanur is an ideal place for a quiet and relaxing family vacation for any budget: “five-star” hotels, more modest hotels, cozy guesthouses, luxurious villas and they are all not far from the ocean. The small resort is quite a lively place with good facilities. The area is well located: it is comfortable to get to all the most famous sights of the island and travel to the neighboring islands. Boats go to Gili islands, Nusa Penida and Lembongan from the local pier.

There is a Hardy's supermarket, a budget local supermarket chain, where you can find a good range of food, fresh fruit as well as non-food products like perfumes, clothes, household goods, and souvenirs. You can rent a motorbike or a scooter daily or monthly nearby, the price depends on the renting period. It's up to you. The motorbike will cost you about 50,000 IDR per day- 250 rubles per day. Lotte Mart, a huge Metro-style hypermarket, is 15 minutes away from Sanur by car. Here is a good selection of fish, seafood and meat, nuts, cheeses, baguettes, bread, freshly baked pastry, various semi-finished products, textiles, goods for home and sports.

Watching the beaches in Sanur that look like on postcards you understand that this is a real idyll. Sanur is exactly the place where dreams come true. The atmosphere here is more relaxed than in other surrounding regions of Bali, therefore, this area belongs to the type of resorts where Europeans come to restore their strength tired of parties.

Sanur is a choice of wealthy people who like drinking their cocktail slowly enjoying ocean views and sea breeze sitting on a rattan lounge chair. This place is also suitable for living with a family and children, there are many pedestrian zones and there are excellent beaches for swimming with sand and a low wave.

Beaches

Depending on the tourist needs the beaches Sanur can be an amazing delight or disappointment. The coastline with the largest hotels is about 7 km long. The beaches have excellent infrastructure and are well equipped. There is a good number of sunbeds and umbrellas for rent, showers, cafes, and bars. Unfortunately, clean shores are located mainly in front of large hotels where every day the staff takes care of cleaning the beach area. Yellow sand beaches are loved by families with children as there are no big waves in the area and the water is clean and clear here. However, there are visible ebbs and flows. You can find many areas with shallow water where you can get into the water and lie on your back like a starfish looking up at the yellow sun through sunglasses and enjoy this incredible concentrate of pleasure.

Sometimes the coast is lined with fishing boats but it doesn’t bother anyone, sometimes ships create an atmosphere of romance and photography lovers do not miss a chance to make excellent shots pretending to be sailors.

There is a beautiful path along the coast where tourists like to walk leisurely and ride bicycles. There are not a lot of tourists on the beaches which is a big advantage. You can be offered water sports activities like an inflatable banana, water scooters, skis and diving.

What to do

Even if you have never taken a step on a yoga mat do not miss the opportunity to get a wonderful experience and practice yoga. Every morning at 7:30 local people give yoga classes to anyon for donation. It is enough to wake up early, come to the beach, take a mat with you or spread a blanket on the sand and start practicing. However, if you cannot live without musical rhythms and you prefer jazz, blues or chill, then it is easy to find cozy restaurants with live music. Also, jazz festivals are regularly held in Sanur gathering not only the best musical bands and artists from Indonesia but also specially invited guests from all over the world.

The Sanur Mostly Jazz Festival is the loudest, most interesting musical event on the jazz scene, where there is a great number of worthy names. No doubt jazz lovers really enjoy these days and come from all over the island to feel the atmosphere of a carefree holiday and good mood. In addition to the music program, there is a local designer market for the festival guests you can also find a food court and plenty of entertainment for the whole family including a special program for the youngest visitors.

The restaurant food in Sanur is varied, the menu usually features local Indonesian and European dishes. There are also fast-food restaurant chains like McDonald's, KFC, Dunkin 'Donuts.

If you want to eat tasty and exotic food, Warung Mak Beng is your guideline. All seafood dishes are made exclusively from fresh products of the highest quality. For the guests in a rush, Lilla Pantai serves good breakfast as well as lunches and dinners with seafood and fish.

At La Playa Cafe, the cuisine is adapted to the continental one, national dishes are more like European ones. Many dishes are cooked at the highest level of culinary prowess.
