Italy

Italy is a country in the south of Europe. Like Greece, Italy is considered the cradle of Western culture. Many people know about the former greatness of the Roman Empire. Not only the facts of conquests and victories of Roman emperors, but the whole cultural and historical layer survived to this day.

It is not a secret that Italy has the largest number of world cultural heritage sites inscribed on the UNESCO’s list. Objects of art and architecture are found throughout the country. And the names of the great Italian artists such as Leonardo da Vinci, Titian, Michelangelo and many others are for ever written in the world culture history. Still it is not in vain that Italy is called Bel Paese (Beautiful Country).

But it is not only the culture that makes the country desirable for millions of guests. Italy is widely known for its magnificent refined cuisine, superb wine, fashion industry, opera singing and luxury sports cars. There is no doubt that many romantics, fashion-mongers and gourmets from around the world are dreaming to rent a villa in Italy and enjoy its generous gifts every day.

And naturally the guests of the country are attracted by the diverse landscapes suitable for all types of holiday. Here you can find picturesque seacoast, mountain peaks of the Alps and the Apennines as well as scenic Italian lakes – Garda and Como. Two large islands - Sardinia and Sicily - are both part of Italy too.

Italy is extraordinary in many ways. So, two independent states are located in its territory – they are Vatican City State and San Marino. They speak the same language and use the same currency with Italy but still these microstates are independent.

The Italian coast is washed by the Ligurian Sea and the Tyrrhenian Sea from the west, by the Mediterranean Sea and the Ionian Sea from the south and by the Adriatic Sea from the east. Italy like no other country is famous for its beautiful cities, each of which is a tourist attraction. These certainly include Venice, Florence, Pisa, Bologna, Verona, Genoa, Naples, Milan, Turin. And, of course, Rome – that is the capital of Italy and its heart. It is the city that still keeps the history and holds a great number of monuments of architecture and art.

Traditionally Italy is a welcoming and hospitable host. Here you will find a hotel in a beautiful city, a guest house in the mountains and a villa by the sea to every taste and budget. The country is remarkably comfortable for holiday and travel due to its convenient transportation system, Mediterranean climate on the coast and continental climate in the mountains and beautiful language as well as abundance of food for body and soul.
